Summer Reading Logs
Third grade students were to read 3 books that fall within their Lexile range. It was strongly encouraged that at least one book should be a non-fiction book. The Summer Reading Assignment will be counted as three homework grades (one grade per book read) and will be due on August 17.
PTA
Please plan on joining Marshpoint's PTA. I would LOVE to have 100% of parents join me as PTA members. It is the BEST $5.00 you will ever spend! Also, please volunteer to help with your gifts and talents here at Marshpoint. Our parents are our greatest strengths!
Monthly Chapter Book Reports
We will have monthly chapter book reports that will be done from home. Parents, PLEASE, help your child with these projects each month. They are so much fun and you will be creating a lasting memory for your child. I highly encourage you to choose a book that you and your child can read out loud together. Your child will LOVE doing this with you. Information will be sent home each month on what is expected for the project. Please do NOT do the project FOR them but WITH them. They will LOVE having you help them, plus, did I tell you how much fun you will have? If you do not have a Public Library card, please make this a priority. I DID (prior to the twister) have a ton of books that my students could borrow but no longer. If you are not able to get a book, please let me know. Our first book report project will be due around the first of September and will be called Book-Report-In-A-Container.
